A subject placed on the UIL Legislative Council this past week, to ban freshmen from playing varsity sports, was rejected by the UIL Standing Committee on Athletics.
Shot down by administrators and coaches, an idea pushing the proposal was to ease the demands placed on ninth grade student-athletes by forbidding them from varsity competition as freshmen.
