Red-hot Ferris, tied with Monahans (9-3), 7-7, in the last minute of the third quarter, fell short of an Area Round triumph when the Loboes scored on a 21-yard scoring pass from Cheno Navarrette to Mc-Clay Orteg for a 13-7 lead. They would pull away in a scoring frenzy, 35-21, after scoring with eight minutes left for a 21-7 lead. The teams swapped TDs in the closing minutes.
