Four years ago Trevor Wilhoite, the president of Ellis County Sports, namely the Ennis Baseball and Ennis Softball associations, ran for mayor of his hometown. He didn’t fare well, but the years since have proven far more fruitful.
“I had a heart for building the community,” he said this week, “but the Lord had other ways to make an impact. It was a lesson in trusting the process.”
