Bernard George Zmolik, 77, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

Benny was born on January 17, 1942 to Joe and Julie Zmolik in Alma, Texas. He grew up in Bardwell and Ennis and attended St. John Catholic School. On August 4, 1962 he married Evelyn Ann Gelnar and they made their home in Ennis, Texas.

Benny spent the majority of his life as a carpenter forming his own company Carpenterworks. He was also a very active member of St. John Catholic Church. He retired in 2012 and spent the reminder of his working life with his wife at H & H Gifts. Throughout his life and into retirement, he dedicated much of his time to the beauty of his church by maintaining the candle devotion as well as the plants and flowers. He loved spending time with his sweetheart, going to Shreveport, his evening Jim Beam, Fox News, time with his family and

Wednesday evenings with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All who knew him loved and appreciated him for his deep faith.

He is survived by loving his wife of over fifty-seven years, Evelyn Gelnar Zmolik; his son, Bernie Zmolik and wife, Pamela; his daughters: Tricia Bacon and husband, Michael, Evette Vitovsky and husband, Bryan; grandchildren: Alisha Ruffin, Ryan and Jonathan Zmolik, Whitney Ferguson, Donovon and Aniston Bacon, Aubrey, Ashlyn, Avery and Braydon Vitovsky. He was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Luke and Jodie Zmolik and sisters: Geraldine Haskovec and Etheline Sylvester.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
