Please Plant a Tree for Me

Whenever I leave this precious world –

I pray with every baited breath,

That those who mourn and grieve for me,

Will please – just plant a little tree…

No flowers please –

Just plant a sprig wherever there’s a space…

If those who care would take this lead –

To share “God’s flowing grace;”

What better honor could there be?

Please share my wish – while I’ve moved on;

To plant a tree somewhere for me;

A gift of graceful boughs –

God’s “flowing grace” survives us now –

And want of shade will be set free.

I pray once more, please– plant a tree for me.

“Just a little one” –

And watch it grow in majesty.
