Cynthia Elaine Cypert-Martinez lost her battle with cervical cancer after five months surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday evening, June 13, 2021 at 8:13 p.m. at her parents’ home in Ennis, Texas.

Cindy was born Cynthia Elaine Cypert in Knox City, Texas on February 10, 1975. Her family moved to Odessa shortly after Cindy’s birth. They lived in Odessa, Big Spring, back to Odessa and then to Georgetown, finally settling down in Ennis where Cindy completed her high school years. Cindy married Robert Roy Martinez and they had three children.

Cindy had a passion for dance and was a “Georgette Dancer” while attending Georgetown High School. She loved watching scary movies, and had the best sense of humor, along with being a jokester up until the end. Cindy loved helping her dad with yard work, working on cars or whatever he needed.

Cindy is survived by daughters: Elizabeth Elaine Day and husband, Conor, Alexis Danae Garcia and David Garcia; son, Jerald Robert (J.R.) Martinez; grandchild who was the light of her life, Gabriela (GiGi) Garcia father, Jerald Cypert and mother, Karen Cypert; brother, Clinton Cypert and wife, Robin; grandmother, Marge Hoops (formerly Marge Ruth Hicks) along with a host of extended family and friends.

Cindy is preceded in death by her grandparents: Verlin and Lois Cypert and Jack and Nancy Easterling.

Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
