David Edward “Eddie” Cervantes, 55, of Ennis, Texas, passed away on April 10, 2021 in Dallas, Texas.

David was born to Jesse and Evila Cervantes on June 1, 1965. Cervantes graduated from Ennis High School in 1983 and attended college at Wyoming Tech to become an automotive technician. His love for cars was a hobby that became a career, with over 30 years in the automotive technology industry. When he wasn’t working, Cervantes would spend his time watching football, NASCAR, golf, and his son, Justin, drag race with Cervantes Racing.

He is survived by his daughter; Amanda Hendricks and husband Jason Hendricks, sons; Justin Cervantes and fiance Amber Elliott, and Alex Cervantes, grandchildren; Rylen Cervantes, Avery Smith-Hendricks, Carleah Elliott, Ayden Smith, Peyton Smith, Noah Elliott; his partner, Susie Hagler; his parents Jesse and Evlia Cervantes; siblings, Jesse Cervantes Jr., Catharine Falkenbach, Marcus Cervantes, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation for family and friends was held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the rosary at 4 p.m. at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin chapel in Ennis.
