Delores Agnes Pokorny Horak, 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 22, 2019.

Married for over 47 years, Delores, is preceded by the passing of her beloved husband, Frank Louis Horak, November 3, 2010. Delores is also preceded in death by her parents Charles Pokorny and Emily Vrana, and brother, Charles Pokorny Jr. of Dallas, Texas, and many aunts and uncles and grandparents of Ennis and Dallas, Texas, and Chicago, Illinois.

Delores is survived by her two daughters, Julie Horak and Jennifer Horak, their husbands, Christopher Kobos and Jason Pali, and her sister Vanora Pokorny and brother-in-law Emil J. Horak, nephew, Emil Horak, Jr. his wife Elizabeth Perez, and their children, Holley Horak, and Ryan Horak.

Delores was born in Ennis, Texas, on the family farm, on Christmas day 1943. Delores spent much of her youth attending Ennis public schools. In later years, Delores moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated from the Flower Vocational High school, near the top of her class. She went on to study at the Art institute in Chicago. In 1963, Delores moved back to Texas and married Frank Louis Horak, at St. Edwards Catholic Church, in Dallas. Delores married her sister’s husband’s identical twin brother. Over the years, Delores and Frank were blessed with two daughters. Delores was a 30 year member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, in Dallas, Texas. As dedicated Catholics, Delores and Frank shared a vocation for making rosaries and sending them around the world to missions in need. Both were members of St. Vincent de Paul. They also sponsored disadvantaged children in Mexico, seeing three children graduate high school through the years. Delores managed the family business for many years all while being a devoted mother and homemaker throughout her life. Delores was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers and gardening, and was a long time member of the arboretum society.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held Friday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at Sparkman Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. Reception to follow. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Labyrinth, 600 S Jupiter Rd, Richardson, Texas, where Delores will be reunited with her husband, Frank L. Horak. Arrangements under the direction of Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, Dallas, TX.

The family has asked in Lieu of flowers, to offer a remembrance mass for Delores at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas, or St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas.
