Donald Joe Watson passed from this life on April 9, 2021, at the age of 60, after fighting a battle with lung cancer for two years. He was at his home, surrounded by family and friends. 

He was born June 24, 1960, in Comanche, Texas, to Donald Lee Watson and Melba Yvonne (Sue) Benson. Donald Joe grew up in Rising Star, Texas. After graduation, Donald Joe made his way to Ennis, Texas, where he worked at Sterilite Corp for over 14 years. 

Donald Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He loved fishing, camping, road trips, cruises and frying up fish at the lake with family and friends. 

Donald Joe was preceded in death by his mom, Melba Yvonne (Sue) Watson. He is survived by his significant other, Mary Lou Trego, of Ennis;  dad, Donald Lee Watson of Cross Plains, Texas; three sons: Dustin Watson and fiancé Sara of Chandler, Texas, Christopher Watson and wife Brittany of Ennis, Matthew Allen and fiancé Deana of St. Charles, MO; three brothers: Richard Watson and wife Leah of Ennis, David Watson and wife Teresa of Ennis, Darryl Watson of Tool, Texas; grandchildren: MaKayla, MaKenzie, Trinity and Riley Watson, Tristan, Blane and soon to be born Hunter Joe Watson, Elania, Ariana, Emma, and Leonidas, and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. 

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, April 17 at 1 p.m. under the pavilion at Waxahachie Creek Park, Bardwell Lake.
