Gordon A. Crigger, 84, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas, on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.

Gordon was born in Waco, Texas, on November 9, 1934, to William A. and Annie Laurie (Gordon) Crigger. He graduated from Fayetteville High School. Gordon went on to receive his Arts and Photography degree from the University of North Texas. On September 3, 1960, he married the love of his life Carol Blackwell after their marriage they lived in Denton, Lubbock, Dallas and moved to Ennis in 1969. Gordon served his country proudly in the United States Army.

Gordon worked for Graphic Arts Company in Dallas as a partner; for Ennis Business Forms for over five years and was the CEO of Carol’s Printing Company for over thirty-nine years.

Gordon was a member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ennis, PIA Printing Industries of America, The Ennis Chamber of Commerce, the Ennis Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge and was a former Board member of the Ennis Country Club. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, golf and tennis.

He is survived by a son, Gordon Allen Crigger, Jr. and wife, Dana; daughter, Toya Vavra and husband, Perry; five grandchildren: Catherine Vavra, Matthew, Vavra, Jason Vavra, Taylor Vavra and Robin Crigger; three great-grandchildren: Caitlyn (Martinez) Vavra, Brynlee Vavra and Avery Vavra; a sister, Ronnie and a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carol Crigger and two brothers.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 6, 2019, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at 10 a.m. in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church of Ennis with Father Charlie Keen officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
