Henry Allen Freeman

Henry Allen Freeman was born November 9, 1947, in Eastland, Texas. His family moved to Corsicana when he was 2 years old. He currently resided in Ennis, Texas.

After graduating from Corsicana High School in 1967, Henry entered the United States Air Force. Upon completion of his military service, he worked at several different grocery stores including Safeway and Brookshire’s. He began working for the Texas Highway Department Maintenance Division in 1972. He also continued his education by earning his Associates Degree from Navarro College. After 32 years with the state of Texas, he retired.

Henry was an avid hunter, fisherman and he enjoyed working in his shop. He also loved watching his children and later grandchildren in all their sports activities.

He is preceded in death by his parents Henry J. and Doris Freeman and brothers-in-law, Ed Cunningham and Alton Gene Holt. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Freeman; daughter, Stacy Orta; son, Brent Freeman and wife, Beth; sisters: Doris Ann Holt, Mary Ruth Cunningham, Glenda Stubbs and husband, Billy Gene, and Jackie Gunn and husband, Buddy; grandchildren: Larissa Orta, Keaton Orta and Kate Freeman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, Texas. Following at 11:30 a.m., a graveside service was held at Hamilton Beeman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org.
