Judith Kyle Smith Oglesby, of Dallas, passed away peacefully June 16, 2021, after a 14 year battle with cancer.

Judith was born October 26, 1947, to John Stanton and Mamie Mullings Smith, of Mineola. She attended Baylor but received her BA in Journalism from SMU. While helping to run her husband’s dental practice and raising two children, she wrote a syndicated column in the Ennis Daily News.

After moving to Dallas in 1978, she joined HPPC where she served as a Sunday school and VBS teacher, choir member and Deacon for several years. She was CEO of Oglesby Communications and had a notable clientele over several years. Judith was chosen for Who’s Who Among American Business Women and was honored for her work in advertising and marketing.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Johnnie Mack Smith, of FL, and his children, Julie and Jay.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon O. Shaw; son, Stephen Oglesby, and wife Gigi; grandchildren: Nicholas Hughes, Madeline Shaw, Alexandra, Henry and Charles Oglesby; great grandson, Jaden McQuaige; brother, Dr. Curtis Smith, two nieces and three nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Park Presbyterian Church on July 9, 2021, at 4 p.m., with a reception following.
