It is with deep sadness that our family announces the death of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucy V. Honza, lovingly known as Mimi. She passed away at the age of 89 in her home on Friday, September 16, 2022, surrounded by her family. Lucy was born in Ennis, on April 19, 1933, to Rosie and Rudolf Juricek and was a lifetime resident who loved her Czech heritage. She enjoyed her bingo nights and casino trips, loved hosting domino parties and card games, was an avid reader, and worked many word puzzle books. She was an excellent seamstress and found such joy in cross stitching many baby blankets for family, friends, and charitable donations.

She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Golden Crusaders, Catholic Daughters and KJZT.

She is survived by her daughters: Debbie Grier Smith and husband, Mike, Vickie Grier Kuhn and husband, Glenn; son, Steven Grier and wife, Rona and daughter-in-law, Doris Ann Zmolik Honza; grandchildren: Jennifer Smith Wilton and husband, J.R., Aaron Grier, Bryan Honza, Adam Grier, Bonnie Reed Ozuna and husband, Nicholas, Kevin Honza, Brittney Honza Staffin and wife, Marissa, Lauren Honza and Sarah Kuhn; great-grandchildren: Arian Castillo, Anaka Castillo, Kayla Wilton, Kylan Johnson, Lincoln Ozuna and Julian Ozuna; sisters: Rosie Ferguson, Geraldine Autrey and brother, Wesley Juricek and wife, Norma.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Adolph W. Honza; sons: Jon Paul Honza and Danny L. Grier, sisters: Emilie Harrison, Helen Autrey, Angeline Ventrca and Georgie Colquitt.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Mass of the Christian Burial took place on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Agustin Fuertes as celebrant. Pallbearers were Aaron and Adam Grier, Bryan and Kevin Honza, J.R. Wilton and Kylan Johnson. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
