Michael John Bustamante

Michael John Bustamante, beloved father and PoPo, went home to meet his Heavenly Father at the age of 56, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in Lubbock, Texas, surrounded by his family.

Michael Bustamante was born June 18, 1964, to Carlos G Bustamante and Maria Anita Rodriguez in Ennis, Texas. His grandparents were Francisco Rodriguez and Joaquina Uranda Rodriguez and Domingo Bustamante and Adela Garza Bustamante. Michael was the youngest of six brothers and three sisters: Joe Bustamante, Frank Bustamante, John Bustamante, Joaquin Bustamante, Olga Martinez Bustamante, and Sylvia Bustamante. He grew up in Ennis and resided there all his life. He graduated from Ennis High School in 1984 at the top of his class and was President of the Leo club at Ennis High School. Michael was a lifelong car show and classic car enthusiast. His biggest pride and joy was working on his 1964 Chevrolet Impala and other classic cars. Michael also loved fishing with his grandchildren, family and friends. Michael’s morning ritual was to visit his mother every morning for coffee and after his mother’s passing, he carried that ritual with his sister Olga. Michael set the tradition of playing the role of Santa Claus for the entire family every year since 1987.

Michael became the youngest co-owner of B&B Body Shop at the age of 14 along with his big brother Frank Bustamante. Michael was a lifelong mechanic in the Ennis community and surrounding areas. Michael’s proudest moment was establishing his transportation business, MB Auto Transport LLC, on January 1st, 2020 along with his son Justin Gonzales. He was a member of the Creechville First Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas.

Michael is survived by his wife Stephanie Gonzales Bustamante; four sons: Justin Gonzales, Almonzo Carbajal, Trevor Bustamante, Michael Bustamante Jr; three daughters: Karri Gonzales, Tiffany Gasca Bustamante and Alisha Carbajal; and 12 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, and baby sister Sylvia.

Public viewing was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m, on Friday, January 29, 2021, at Green Funeral Home, 207 S. Wood St., Ferris, Texas 75125.

Service was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at Green Funeral Home.

Christian Burial immediately followed the service with Pastor Doyle Winters as celebrant at Ferris Memorial Park North.

Pallbearers: Justin Gonzales, Almonzo Carbajal, Trevor Bustamante, Michael Bustamante, Marcus Pena, and Roger Knight.

Services were under the direction of Green Funeral Home, Ferris, Texas.
