Michael Joseph Jesttes

Michael Joseph Jesttes, age 62 passed away in Tyler on May 12, 2021. He was born on January 23, 1959 to Gene Wilson Sr, and Margaret Louise (Greene) Jesttes in Loma Linda, California. He liked riding his Harley and building things. He was raised in Pomona, California and graduated Gary High School; graduated at El Centro Community College in Dallas in criminal justice. He worked for Dallas Sheriff’s Office for 30 years in the traffic, warrants and narcotics areas. He was also Range Master of Dallas County. Michael retired in 2008 to work for MPAA as a PI. He was a United States Marine during the Vietnam era working as an MP in crash, fire and rescue. Michael liked fishing, watching River Monsters and Cooking with Anthony Bordain television shows.

Surviving him are his parents, Gene and Margaret Jesttes; children, Shanna Reeves and husband Jerry, and Christina Jesttes; grandchildren, Shalynn Reeves, Kayleigh Truly, Hunter Reeves and Aletha Reeves; siblings, Mark Jesttes and wife Glenda, Debbie Bevins and John Krzysztofiak, Gene Jesttes, Jr. and Rosanna Maness and husband Ron; brother-in-law, Thomas Vance and wife Shanda; sister-in-law, Lea Vance.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Aletha Jesttes, mother-in-law, Estelle Vance, and brother-in-law, David Vance.

The family will celebrate his life with friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a service at 6 p.m., on Monday, May 17, 2021, and continued visitation from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 800 S. Kaufman Street, Ennis, Texas, 972-878-2211.
