Monte Bryan Hutchins
Monte Bryan Hutchins passed away July 28, 2021, at the age of 47.
Bryan was born March 10, 1974 in Corsicana to Jacqueline Gammil and Monte James Hutchins. He grew up in Rice, and attended Blooming Grove schools. Although he was an all around athlete and played all sports, basketball was his passion. He was second in the state in rebounding in high school. He also loved fishing with his dad. After graduating from Blooming Grove High School in 1992, Bryan went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Texas at Arlington. This helped prepare him for his job as the Vice President of First State Bank of Rice, Texas – which he really enjoyed.
Bryan’s most treasured value was being a dad! He and Shannon had two amazing children - Connor and Chase. His boys were the light of his life, and he loved every moment that he spent with them. He made sure to show, through word and action, how important they were. He was very proud that his son Connor shared the same birthday as him. When the boys were young, they always had fun with their dad hitting baseballs and playing at playgrounds. When Chase was a boy, Bryan often took him to garage sales to find special treasures. Bryan also cherished watching Connor play basketball throughout the years, as well as Chase playing golf. Bryan and Shannon remained close friends throughout the years, and were committed to coparenting for the benefit of their children.
He adored his sister, Kate, and was very proud to walk her down the wedding aisle when she got married. He always ensured that she had everything she needed during her school career and beyond. Bryan will always be her “Bubba.”
Bryan remained an outstanding athlete, even into his 40s. When he was not working, he was always doing something outside. He worked hard to stay in shape, and was training for a triathalon. Basketball, running, fishing, and shooting were all enjoyable for Bryan. He was involved with the Corsicana Running Club, the Waxahachie Sand Volleyball League, and the YMCA. He loved country western dancing! Bryan was always one of the best dancers in the room. A very smart man, he liked puzzles, sudoku, fantasy football and baseball, and playing poker.
With his great sense of humor, Bryan was always the life of the party. His wonderful smile could light up a room. He was joyful, and spread his positive spirit to others. Bryan was a a kind soul, and was willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed being a part of his community, and served in the Lion’s Club, volunteered for the Salvation Army, and helped with Derrick Days. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and the Navarro County Youth Expo. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. Bryan will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He touched an infinite amount of lives, and his legacy will live on through his family.
Bryan leaves behind his sons Connor and Chase Hutchins, his sister and brother-in-law Kate and Matt Authier, his nephews Anderson, Brooks, and Campbell Authier, as well as his brother Michael J. Crawford and sister Karen Crawford. He also considered Priscilla Clore, as a mother.
To honor Bryan’s life, his family has planned a visitation on Monday, August 2nd from 6 to 8 in the evening at Corley Funeral Home. His Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, August 3 at 11 o’clock in the morning in the Magnolia Chapel of Corley Funeral Home, with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating.
