Rene Rolando Lara, Sr.

Rene Rolando Lara Sr, 72, of Ennis, went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 22, 2022, in Waxahachie, Texas.

He was born in Rio Grande City, Texas, on August 27, 1949, to Leonarda Lara. He graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1969. He worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass in Waxahachie from 1969 till his retirement in 2014. He was employed there for 45 years. He married Helen Mendoza on August 3rd, 1974. They have two children together, Rene and Angela, and a son they raised as their own, Michael.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Leonarda Lara, brother, Rogelio Lara, nephew, David Rios, and a brother-in-Law, Desiderio Rios Jr.

Rene is survived by his wife of 47 years Helen M. Lara, his 3 children, Rene Rolando Lara Jr, Angela Denise Vega (Jose), and Michael Anthony Mendoza Jr (Casandra), his sister, Zulema Rios, his grandchildren, Natalie Vega, Bethany Vega, Ryan Vega, Elijah Vega, Jordan Mendoza, Mia Mendoza, and Bella Mendoza.

Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX will oversee arrangements.
