Tommy Jack Vinson

Tommy Jack Vinson, born January 6, 1954, to C.T. and Meloneize Vinson, passed away unexpectedly on August 11, 2019, in Manila, Philippines while visiting a friend. He was a high school graduate of Ennis, Texas, and years later married Carolyn Carroll, of Blooming Grove. They made their home in Blooming Grove until her untimely death in 2012. He then moved back to Eureka with his parents.

Tommy was an avid collector of arrowheads, Indian artifacts. He began his fascination with military fire arms from the WWII era. His Dad brought back with him many items when he fought in WWII. Even though Tommy was confined to his home he loved spending time on his computer keeping up with family and friends. His mom said if anything went wrong with his computer you better know off to the repair shop they would go in a hurry. That was his life line to the outside world.

Tommy was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Blooming Grove.

Tommy is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Carroll Vinson, his father C.T. Vinson, his grandparents Howell and Margarite Vinson, Maudie Brock Vinson, Will and Lizzie Dover plus a number of Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his mother Meloneize Vinson, Brother David Vinson and wife Yvonne. Nieces Hilary Vinson and Amanda Jackson. Nephew Blake Vinson, Great nephew Reid Jackson, Great Nieces, Kalli Vinson and Caroline Jackson, and his very good friend, Jemmelou Cabrera.

Please join the family in celebrating Tommy’s life. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, from 1 p.m. until Service Time at 2 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis.
