William "Bill" Hilliard Foster, III

William “Bill” Hilliard Foster, III, 66, of Arlington, Texas, departed this earthly realm on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 4 p.m. in Mansfield, Texas, at Mansfield Methodist Hospital. Bill was born June 9, 1954, to a Navy family, Donna Brittain Foster and William H. Foster, Jr. in Norfolk, VA. After his father’s death, Frank C. Lipsey became his stepfather at age, 6.

Bill graduated in 1972 from Ennis High School where he was a football, basketball and track star, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. He was nationally recruited for his academic and football skills. He was most proud of signing with Coach Bear Bryant at The University of Alabama. He transferred to Texas A & M and finished his football career with Navarro Jr. College. Bill met the love of his life, Terry Dent, in junior high at age 12 in 1967. They married in Arlington, April 19, 1980. They were just 10 days shy of 41 years of marriage at his death. Into this union were born three beautiful children: Leslie Anne, William Hilliard, IV and Derek Lee. Bill was so proud of his children and loved any time he was able to spend with them.

Bill worked 33 years in the aerospace industry. He left his position as VP/General Manager with ASC Industries in 2009. Bill’s favorite hobbies were listening to rock and roll music, gambling, eating Terry’s chicken enchiladas, watching college football and softball, NASCAR and General Hospital. Bill had both legs amputated below his knees in 2018, but he kept a positive attitude and participated and helped everyone as much as he could.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of almost 41 years, Terry Dent Foster; daughter, Leslie Anne Foster; son, William Hilliard Foster, IV; sister, Sandra Foster Mingo; half-brother, Kraig “Kasey” Carlton Lipsey; nieces, Christine Lopez; Heather Gonzalez; Jennifer (Tim) Mingo Hasko; Erika (Wes) Lipsey Estep; Brittany Lipsey; nephew, Ernie Mingo, Jr. and numerous other friends and family.

Bill is preceded in death by his son, Derek Lee Foster; his mother, father, stepfather; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Foster Jackson and Ulyssees Jackson; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon Foster and Hugh Laird; brother-in-law, Ernie Mingo; sister-in-law, Tina Lipsey; niece, Marissa Lipsey; mother, father and brother-in-law, Weldon, Helen and Joe Lee Dent; and beloved dog, Mollie.

Paul Newman, George Beggs, Roland Christian, Robert Myer, Bob McCollum, and Cliff Tanton will be serving as pallbearers.

Visitation was held Friday, April 16, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, Ennis, TX.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, Ennis, TX. Interment followed immediately afterward at Myrtle Cemetery.
