When I was a kid growing up in Florida, my sister, Karen, and I loved it whenever company dropped by our house in Delray Beach. Especially unannounced. Since our home life wasn’t all that peaceful, guests meant a break from the tension of an alcoholic step-father and a mother who would pick fights with him.
