Dear Editor,

Not being in control is an uncomfortable feeling for many. If left unchecked or is ungoverned, it can lead to crippling fears of certain situations.

I have a technician’s brain. In the Navy, I worked on advanced electronics. Now, there is a big difference between an electrical engineer and an electronics technician.

Sometimes, I wonder how they pay their taxes in different countries.

The story goes that a young man who was watching his flock of sheep outside of town, thought it funny to cry “wolf” and laugh and laugh as the town folk rushed to his aid to fight an imaginary foe. Crying out so often, town folk became slower and slower and fewer and fewer until finally they didn’t respond at all.

Simple. It is. It is likely why the legal eagles closest to President Donald Trump don’t come across as taking this impeaching ordeal all that seriously.

Having grown up in a fairy tale world where every Cinderella met her prince and wicked witches burned in cauldrons of their own recipe, I remain amazed when acts of kindness are not necessarily rewarded by strains of music enjoyed along flowerstrewn paths.

Millions across North America paid homage to the late Martin Luther King, Jr., over the weekend. Since President Ronald Reagan made MLK Day a national holiday in 1983, it has been set aside as such.

On Sunday, Championship Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs punched their ticket to the Super Bowl. Now we have two weeks to wait before a real football game happens.
