Charlie Kirk lived above reproach
Once or twice every generation, the diffuse inhabitants of the earth stand silently united in witness of human tragedy. As with 9/11 and the Challenger explosion in 1986, such a moment occurred on September 10, 2025 as footage rapidly circulated online of Charlie Kirk, the charismatic young founder of Turning Point USA, being fatally struck in the neck by an assassin’s bullet. For the remainder of that day, the world truly seemed to stand still. Notably absent from usual political dialogue was the expected outrage – instead, merely quiet sadness, as if the whole world realized the gravity of what it had witnessed. All who were politically engaged, whether or not they agreed with Kirk’s positions, likely knew that nothing would, or should, ever be the same moving forward.
