Ennis baseball team was on the verge of a playoff berth at 12-9-2 overall and were 7-3 in district games. What came next was a 1-4 finish, including a 10-8 loss to Red Oak in a play-in game. Blowing a 7-1 lead in that game by walking eight batters and dropping a bases-loaded pop-up to centerfield left a taste of dissatisfaction in the Lions’ mouth.
