Southwestern Assemblies of God University, the only four-year college in Ellis County, won the NCCAA National Championship on Thursday in Kansas City with a 7-4 win over Columbia University.
The Lady Lions overcame a 3-0 deficit in the fourth when they broke open a close game with a 15-hit attack, including Maddie Watkins two-run homer. Ashlyn Teran collected the win with 5.1 innings in relief.
