Lady Lions swept by No. 5 Lake Belton
Ennis (21-15), fourth place in District 15-5A, fought well against No. 5 ranked Lake Belton (30-6), but lacked timely hitting in 9-4 and 4-1 setbacks last week. They outhit the Broncos 7-5 and earned five walks, all in the second game, but stranded most of them in a one-run output. Shortstop Miranda Chandler turned a double play and pitcher Breona Benavidez allowed just two earned runs as the Lady Lions season came to an end. They do, however, return a roster that loses no seniors.
