The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE), Chapter 1191, will not hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting in Ennis on Dec. 8, 2020, due to the CoronaVirus.

An aerial photographer in World War II, James Ford Curry returned to Ennis to share his love for the visual with his hometown, opening a popular studio that flourished for over 30 years.

Granny Sue, as she is known to many, Sue Rudd to others, celebrated her 90th birthday in style on Nov. 27. She sat on a homemade throne and waved to passersby during a parade of well-wishers inside vehicles. All told there were at least 25 cars and trucks, including a police squad car, a fire engine from the Bardwell Volunteer Fire Department, many drivers from her home church, First United Methodist Church of Ennis. Christen Vick, who is on staff at FUMC and just reelected to the Palmer ISD trustee board, helped coordinate the procession of vehicles.
