According to Ellis County Elections, the City of Bardwell will have a new mayor following the May 1 Election Day. Larry Gilbert has served the 600 residents south of Lake Bardwell for the past two years.

Sokol KHB will once again be having three Catfish Fish Fry’s this year. Dinner will include catfish, coleslaw, beans, hush puppies, and french fries for only $10. Child plates are $7. Carry-outs will be available.

So we ask, what gives my life meaning? What is my focus? Two very important questions. How so? Our lives are shaped by the end one lives for. It has been written, that in the measure we desire him, we will find him.

The Ennis Country Club, once popular for its golf tourneys and lunch time gatherings, has been gone for nearly a decade. The brick structure is now demolished and a new home has been built on the site by a local businessman and his family.
