Few individuals in American history have made an impact as sizable as Martin Luther King, Jr. King wore many hats throughout his tragically short life, from minister to activist to scholar, leaving behind a legacy that is worthy of celebration.

An adorable pair of Elf Seek and Find winners claimed a basket-full of goodies at the Welcome Center in Ennis. The month-long search of participating, downtown, storefront windows drew hundreds to investigate the décor for a hidden Elf, the small, fairytale character.

During Tuesday’s (Jan. 10) School Board meeting, five fifth grade students from Dorie Miller Intermediate presented an impressive collection of oratory hope.

Kicking off the 2023 season at Ennis Public Theatre (EPT), 113 N. Dallas St., is the play I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. The show is slated to appear Feb. 16-26.

Ennis ISD School Board members recognized the work of Superintendent Jay Tullos by adding a year to his current contract. They voted to extend the current deal, which now runs from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2028.
