Sarah Jane Garrison (Cox), also known as “Aunt SaSa” to her family, was born at home in Cunningham, Texas, on June 25, 1940. Sarah went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2024, at the age of 84. She was a beloved wife and mother preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” McAfee. After graduating from Daingerfield High School in 1958, she attended beauty school, worked at the Ennis Sewing Factory, Texas Instruments and Haggard Slacks. She was a faithful member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Garland. After moving to Ennis, she became a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Sarah wore many hats, a jack of all trades, with never a dull moment. Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She held a strong conviction in Jesus and was a steadfast follower.

Genevieve Poage Holmes passed away peacefully at home in Ennis, Texas on December 13, 2024. She was born October 4, 1939, to Walton Poage and Helen Elrod Poage in San Angelo, Texas. She was raised in the ranching and rodeo culture of West Texas and was very proud of her heritage. Genevieve graduated from Rankin High School and Texas Tech University. Following her education, Genevieve taught school in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Ozona, Sanderson, Ennis and Palmer, Texas. She was loved by generations of students and followed the lives of many of them.

Louis Wayne Jackson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and valued community member, passed away on December 10, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was born on June 29, 1939, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The son of Lewis Woodson “L.W” Jackson and Vernice Marie Holland, Wayne graduated from Duncan High School and went on to attend Cameron University and Cooke County College where he studied Industrial Arts and Engineering.

Chris Westbrook, a gifted teacher who nurtured students for more than 40 years and provided constant support as a loving wife, mother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on October 12, 2024, passing away peacefully at home at the age of 93. Born on September 2, 1931 in Kerens, Texas, she was the eldest daughter of Ola Mae and Jester James Weathers. Her parents farmed in the Kerens area where she developed a strong work ethic, love of nature, and desire for lifelong learning. After Kerens High School, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) in 1953.

Phillip Molina II, 67, of Brady, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on September 29, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Kathy Molina, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Phillip was born in Ennis on February 21,1957 and was the son of Sammy Molina Sr. and Amelia (Emily) Molina of Ennis. He graduated from Ennis High School in 1975 and worked at Halliburton for over 30 years before transitioning to a career as an oil and gas consultant for the last decade. Known for his strong work ethic and fairness, he served as a mentor to many young professionals, embodying the values of integrity and diligence. Those who had the privilege of knowing him admired his character and keen intellect.

Teddy J. Collard, born on March 8, 1943, in Alma, TX, to Bertha Mae Griffith and Theodore R. Collard. He passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20th, surrounded by his loving family. Teddy grew up in Arlington, TX, and graduated from high school in 1961. On June 22, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Stalter, and together they raised three wonderful children.
