Weight training, conditioning open to all in grades 7-12

Weeks of regular season games have come to an end at Bluebonnet Park. Packed parking and bleachers will continue this week as boys baseball and girls softball leagues enter the playoffs. Those that win this week will advance to the state playoffs, where Ennis often produces teams who crest at the right time.

De La Garza, Houdek pitching holds off

Kade Bragg was listed in Major League Baseball’s transactions on May 8 when Minnesota moved him up from the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels to the High-A Twins affiliate Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League.

Former Ennis track and football standout, T.T. Cox, a sophomore at Tarleton State University, competed in six meets this spring. He ran the 100 and 110 hurdles.

Senior outfielder Kaycee Slovak was named the Offensive Player of the Year in District 15-5A. The “Great 8” was the top batter for Ennis (17-11, 4th place) with a .511 batting average. She had 45 hits in 88 at bats, scoring 40 times and driving in 35 runs.
