Three months of grueling preparation came to a close for the Ennis High School Cross Country teams, on Monday, October 7. Both the varsity boys and girls collaborative work resulted in sixth place finishes on the 3.1 mile course.

Seniors on the frontline, Kaycee Slovak and Ellie Wartsbaugh, not only deliver some spicy hot shots at the opposition, their asbestos hands serve to reject incoming missiles by the opposition.

An 85-mile trek north was a trip worth the taking for Palmer. The Bulldogs scored twice out of the gate and cruised to a 43-10 conquest of Pilot Point on Oct. 4.

Backs-to-the-wall after recent close losses

Palmer swept Rice, 3-0, on Tuesday, 25-20, 25-19, 25-17, to lift their overall record to 22-12 and are currently sitting in third in District 18-3A with a 4-2 mark. Rice, the home team, slid to 16-13 and 0-5.
