On Thursday, December 8th, the Ennis Retired School Personnel Association‘ s Happy Helpers Committee delivered Christmas stockings to residents of Brookdale Senior Living Center. ERSPA members stuffed the stockings with goodies. Committee members attending were Linda Pearce, Melinda Shaw, and Emma Wilson. Healthy Thanksgiving tips for National Diabetes Month
November is the start of the holiday season and National Diabetes Month. While Thanksgiving dinner and other celebrations of the season are often not balanced, those living with diabetes can enjoy traditional dishes while incorporating a few ideas to balance out some high fat and high carbohydrate plates. Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Health Specialist, David Leal, has some tips to help make our holiday meals healthier without skipping our family favorites.

Randy Bryan Bigham, local writer and columnist for the Ennis News, will soon observe his seventh consecutive year with this paper. Bigham formerly contributed arts-related content, including book reviews, to the Dallas Morning News and Dallas Voice. He began as a features writer for the Ennis Daily News in 2002, advancing the next year to community editor.
