Rokas retires after 20 years with Ennis Tourism
A golden era ends with the retirement of Gina Rokas, 60, director of tourism for the City of Ennis. After 20 years at the center of a flurry of activity in the life of the Bluebonnet City, Rokas said goodbye last month to the work and responsibility of helping lead Ennis to its current status as a thriving community, one flourishing in tourism, business and cultural diversity.

Ferris lands Madrigal as Supt.
Ferris ISD announced the hiring of new Superintendent Hector Madrigal following a 7-0 in-favor vote of the Board of Trustees on Tuesday, Oct. 21. He started immediately. “Ferris ISD is excited to welcome Mr. Hector Madrigal and his family to our community. We are excited to work hand in hand to make improvements for our students and staff,” said Acting Supt. Thomas Joseph T.J. Knight. He governed in that role since the retirement of previous Head of Schools, James Hartman, in early October of 2022.
