Ennis honors Veterans in annual ceremony
Century Club learns of Texas landmarks
Submitted Photo The Century Club recently held a meeting at the historic home of Judy Connatser on Sherman Street. Pat Warren presented the program providing an interesting history of Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Stockyards Historic District which was formed in 1876 with the arrival of the railroads. By 1907, the cattle industry in the stockyard sold a million cattle a year. This program is one of many over the next year following the theme of “Exploring Texas Landmarks & Monuments”.
Ennis Heritage Society meets Nov. 20
Holiday lights, décor, await approval
Tuesday’s City Commission meeting, which had a short list of agenda items, included one that drew plenty of back-and-forth about two bids for Christmas lighting and décor. It was eventually tabled for a week and will be discussed further at a specially called meeting for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, at City Hall.
