Sessions family history
The family that lived in the house pictured, was that of David Shelton Sessions. It was located at 509 S Dallas St. in Ennis. This house was located on the corner of S. Dallas and Lampasas, The property of the Session family covered ½ of the 500 block of S. Dallas, down to McKinney on the West. The Sanborn map of 1915 shows a dwelling with a couple of out buildings, descendants remember visiting their grandparents and roaming the property with a garden, an orchard and barn.

Ennis Parks and Recreation’s Mary Brodie speaks to NARFE
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Chapter 1191 held its monthly meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bubba’s BBQ in Ennis on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. The guest speaker was Mary Brodie, administrative assistant with the Ennis Parks and Recreation department. Ms. Brodie has been in Ennis for 10 years and has an MS from Texas A&M University.
