Providing motivation and an opportunity to get ahead, Ferris Independent School District has launched a new lane for high school students. They can be benefactors of earning dual credits while they are in high school, which is trending across the country.

Ennis introduced its new, downtown underground refuse system during a ceremony on Monday at the Bluebonnet Room inside the Welcome Center. The installation was the first of its kind in Texas.

Local singer/songwriter Brandon Hixson, for some years also known for his association with Tabernacle Baptist Church as worship pastor, is releasing a new album next week in celebration of his creative genesis.

Ennis High School band musicians scored very well at the All-Region Band competition and attended the Region 20 All-Region Clinic and Concert at Duncanville High School. In fact, 10 earned All-Region positions, with three advancing to All-Area and, for the second consecutive year, one – Faith Perez, was awarded All-State honors.
