Ennis ISD will have two open seats on the school board of trustees this spring, and both incumbents have applied for another term according to the Central Offices downtown.

Ferris ISD approved a contract with Education Energy Initiative, a company that works to provide energy solutions for schools that benefit the entire community. The partnership will secure highly competitive rates for residential electricity for qualifying employees and residents who live within the school district boundaries while generating donations to Ferris ISD’s education foundation.

Sam Houston State University, a public research university located in Huntsville,137 miles southeast of Ennis, recently published both its President’s and Dean’s List for the 2024 Fall semester.

Abilene Christian University recently announced 18 Dean’s Honor Roll students from Ellis County for the fall 2024 semester. Each earned a 3.6 or higher grade point average while enrolled in at least 12 credit hours.

Elementary, junior high and high school students may enter their artwork in the Ellis County Art Association’s Annual Youth Art Show in April. Scholarships, a gift certificate to Blick Art Supply and ribbons will be awarded by age group after judging.
