With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, the Ennis Christian Ministers Association will treat couples that have been married over 50 years to a special banquet in honor of their longevity together. The Golden Sweetheart Banquet will be held at the First United Methodist Church located at 300 N Sherman on Tuesday, February 11 beginning at 5:30 p.m. A great meal will be served at 6:30 p.m.

Count on the Ennis Chamber of Commerce to make available the Ellis County candidates currently running for office at a Meet & Greet that will be open for area residents. It is set for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at the Chamber of Commerce. It is located next to the Quality Inn, Denny’s and Whataburger along the service road on southbound I-45.

Residents of nearby Bardwell, Texas (pop. 720) continued to be without water or have had very low water pressure since the issue first arose on Sunday morning. It has continued into Tuesday afternoon.
