Hay Maze through October

The City of Ennis, Parks and Rec and the creative aerosol paint and design of Ben Vyers have made the Hay Maze a great attraction downtown. Use caution in the area when smoking.

On Thursday evening, Oct. 1, 2020, at approximately 6 p.m., the Ennis Fire Department was requested for mutual aid to 505 Mach Road for a reported structure fire.

A fiery head-on collision claimed the lives of two drivers just east of I-45 on State Highway 34 at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

Sunshine and life continue their radiance at Brookdale Assisted Senior Living on the west side of Ennis. And the reasons are many.

The annual Hay Maze, complete with a larger, more challenging labyrinth, is ready for day or evening fun at the corner of NW Main Street and Baylor at the North Plaza.

Former vendors at the Ennis Farmers Market, Doug and Susie Winters, took the scenic route to arrive at their Trail of Faith Ranch.

Candido “Candi” Casillas, who served on the Ennis School Board two years ago, has tossed his name in the hat as a candidate for re-election on Nov. 3.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The information that last week a 1927 Ennis fire truck was moved from a fire station on the outskirts of the city to the main station downtown inspired many questions about its history.
