Area Congressman Jake Ellzey brought an impassioned message about America “not sitting idly by” during a lunch meeting to the Rotary Club. Held in the Bluebonnet Room at the Welcome Center on Tuesday to accommodate the crowd, which included seating for non-Rotarian adults interested in Ellzey’s update from the nation’s capital.
Ellis Co. Historical Commission honored
For the fourth consecutive year, Ellis County Historical Commission was honored with the Texas Historical Commission Distinguished Service Award for 2024 for logging countless hours of volunteer service to preserving history in Ellis County. The award was presented at the August 5 meeting of the Ellis County Commissioners Court. County Judge John Wray presented the award to ECHC Chair David Sacha.

Ellzey guest speaker at Rotary Club
Ennis Rotary Club is hosting a meeting with Congressman Jake Ellzey as the guest speaker at noon, Tuesday, August 12. It will be held inside the Welcome Center, 201 NW Main Street, in the Bluebonnet Room. During the meeting, a Rotary Club check for $20,000 will be presented to the City earmarked for Rotary Park.
