Recently Ennis Retired School Personnel members attended the TRTA District 10 2025 Spring Leadership Conference at in Richardson, Texas. Ennis RSPA had a great day. Awards and recognitions were presented to chapters in the District 10 area at this conference. The District 10 area consists of 22 chapters.

Ennis ISD announced plans on Monday, April 28, to renovate the Ennis Junior High School track, which circles around the natural grass football field. Athletic Director Joe Kostiha explained the work will require that both the running track and interior field area will be closed until sometime in the summer.

Longest-tenured Head of Schools caps career in education

Texas Education Agency accountability ratings have been published, and Rice High School, just 10 miles south of Ennis in Navarro County, topped all of Ellis County with an A grade with Palmer and Midlothian each garnering B. This was the first time TEA had released state-wide ratings since 2019.

Area towns with more on the ballot

A gathering of servant leaders, some of them ministers, met downtown on Thursday as part of the National Day of Prayer. Following singa- long worship, led by Matt Walker, the pastor at Anthony Drive Baptist Church, a season of topical prayers invited a crowd of approximately 50+ to participate. Children, teenagers and adults of all ages joined in for an hour of intercessory prayer.

Waxahachie City Federation of Women’s Clubs annually recognizes “Women of the Year,” and recently announced their current list of honorees. The group included two women who are from Ennis.

Led by a live band and a cast of 25 graduating seniors, the Ennis Choir welcomes everyone to their final event, next Saturday, May 3rd in the spring concert.
