Godfrey named interim police chief
Two weeks ago during a City Commission meeting at City Hall, Ennis Mayor Kameron Raburn appointed Chief of Police Dustin Munn to fill the temporary role of Interim City Manager while a search continues for a fulltime City Manager. To allow the shift in leadership roles, Assistant Chief Michael Godfrey was approved to serve as Interim Chief of Police.

City tackles water main breaks
Ennis experienced approximately eight leaks in water main breaks earlier in the week, all of which have been repaired. Following the testing of multiple water samples, each returned negative for contaminants, the City received laboratory test results at 6pm on Thursday that permitted a rescinding of the boil water advisory. Like the other daily updates to the public, it was promptly communicated. Public water no longer needs boiling prior to use as corrective actions have occurred to restore its use for human consumption.
