A news article revealing reasons behind the termination of Ennis Downtown Development and Tourism Director Becky McCarty was published in the Sunday, Oct. 20, edition of Ennis News. Due to the timing of receipt of the public record and press deadline constraints, contact of McCarty for response was not possible.

An unoccupied, old downtown building suffered a collapsed roof on Monday morning, Oct. 21, though no injuries were reported.

A specially called meeting of the Ennis Independent School District Board of Trustees was called for Tuesday, Oct. 22, though results were not made available. The board spent the evening in Executive Session, which is closed to the public.
