Bluebonnet Market opens April 6
Like many happenings in the lives of people, they become more natural year after year until they have grown on you. Now 10-years old, the Ennis farmers market, called the Bluebonnet Market, will open another season next month. Seven months of Saturdays in downtown, from 8 a.m. until noon, beginning April 6, will feature scores of vendors for area shoppers.

Serial child abuser sentenced to Life and 20 years in prison
Ellis County and District Attorney Ann Montgomery announced that, after a week-long trial by jury, Bobby Trevino, 58, of Red Oak, Texas, was convicted of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child and Indecency with a Child. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the Continuous Sexual Abuse charge, and 20 years in prison on the Indecency with a Child charge. These sentences will run consecutively.
