Henrietta Novotny publishes memoir
Henrietta Novotny, for many years known locally as a businesswoman of skill and ingenuity, has written an autobiography of her years in Ennis. For much of that time, she operated Frank’s Towne, with and without her late husband, Frank Novotny, and she insists she loved the work of running the gift shop and being a part of the life of the city.

(CAS) announced this week that Ennis ISD, one of more than 350 Texas school districts and colleges participating in the CAS workers’ compensation risk pool program, recently received a safety award reserved for members who achieve superior loss control results. Wade Bishop was on hand in Austin to receive the gift award.
