School, fall sports underway

A sure sign that fall is upon us began recently when a certain gas station began to promote a variety of pumpkin flavored treats. How do they know we salivate at the thought of pumpkin pie, cupcakes, and pumpkin roll filled with cream cheese?

About one year ago, for personal reasons, I set aside writing my column for the Ennis News. Once life straightened out, I just got busy. Well, that’s my excuse, and I’m sticking to it! Some may have no ticed previously I didn’t write about politics except in the abstract, never expressing my personal political affiliations and beliefs. That ends now.

In our kitchen, one of my two simple bar stools lost one of its dowels. I should not be surprised because the stools are probably 30 years old and, as I well know, things can decline during three decades of life.
