The political party that was proslavery in the South and the North...

- that birthed the Ku Klux Klan...

Atlanta is the home of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the national public health institute in the United States.

Not a pleasant point of view at all. Yet there I was, and so was the lawman facing one another like an old west duel. Squared off, the sheriff had a quick draw on this writer.

That’s where I saw her.

An age-old saying comes to mind when considering all that we are learning from this Covid-19 bug from the Far East. Unfortunately, many lessons come with a tougher-than-hoped-for experience.

Athletic prowess has long been heralded for accomplishing great physical exploits. Dating back through the games of the Olympiad and in modern history, athletes and sportsmen have been admired for feats of strength and speed.

When the December wedding came to a close, it was the bride’s mother who looked around at her friends from college.

“We’ve got one hour to clean up this place or I face another $250 charge.”
