William “Bill” Woody, one of the area’s most beloved and respected leaders, passed away in Waxahachie on June 3, at 81.

Although summer is the most popular time for recreation, one of Ennis’s oldest recreation spots, Kiwanis Park at Old City Lake, is already teeming with locals.

Veteran educator Vickie Griffith was introduced as the new principal at Carver Early Childhood Center on June 8. The facility, built in 2009, has 375 pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.
