Santiago Artemio Cornejo 'Papi Temo'
Santiago Artemio Cornejo, age 84, passed away on June 04, 2023. He was born on January 31, 1939, in a community called “Las Mesas” near Zacapu, Michoacan, Mexico to his parents, Crescencia Alvarez Garcia and Santiago Cornejo Alaniz. Artemio got married to María Socorro in 1959 and were married for over 60 years.
Eva Luna Garza
Eva Luna Garza was born in Lueders, Texas, on May 25, 1937, to Enes Luna and Natividad Rivera Luna. She passed away on May 31, 2023, after losing her battle with cancer in Alvin, Texas. She was the eldest daughter of 11 siblings: Lydia, Gloria, Jesse, Adan (Danny), Faye, Linda, Clara, Angel, Dale and Joe Luna.
Mary Ann Honza
Sister Mary Ann Honza, CDP, entered eternal life peacefully and unexpectedly on May 29, 2023, in McCullough Hall Nursing Center, San Antonio, Texas at the age of 98. She was the third of nine children born to Joseph F. and Anastasia (Stella) Honza. Sister Mary Ann was born July 22, 1924, in Bardwell, Texas. Her baptismal name was Johanna Veronica. She answered God’s call to become a Sister of Divine Providence on June 21, 1943, and professed first vows on June 22, 1944. Sister Mary Ann taught elementary school during her 60 years of active ministry.
Johnny Mack Woodard
Johnny Mack Woodard, age 80, went to meet his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2023, at Ennis Care Center in Ennis, Texas, after battling Parkinson’s for many years. Johnny was born April 25, 1943, in Waxahachie, Texas, to A.C. Woodard and Frances McAlpin Woodard. He graduated Midlothian High School in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Jane Matthews, in 1962.
Albin Houdek
Albin “Beano” Houdek was born on September 8, 1925, in Ennis, Texas, and died peacefully on May 23, 2023, at the age of 97 in Denton, Texas. He was the youngest child of Elizabeth Danek and Stanley Houdek, Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two older brothers, Stanley Jr. and George.
Mary F. Tignor
Mary F. Tignor was united with Jesus on May 1, 2023. She was born in Texas to Minnie Lee and Curtis Lee Cook. An Ennis, Texas girl through and through, she lived in and loved her home in Rice. Mary continued her education earning a Business Degree. She blessed so many lives just by being who she is. A loving wife and warm, caring mother, Mary leaves a legacy of open arms and acceptance that lives on through all that knew her.
