Helen Frances Shelton Abram passed away peacefully at home, January 16, 2023, after a vigorous and productive life. Born July 26, 1925, in Lawton, OK, Helen attended Cameron University, a business major, and also held a diploma in architecture/interior design from the School of Fine Arts, in Dallas.
A funeral service for Velma Hyde, 91, was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Frankston with Rev. Scott Wiley and Dr. Charles Dodson officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Garden Cemetery in Tyler. Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home, Frankston.
Joseph A. Barak, Sr. 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his home in Ennis, Texas. Joseph was born in Bryan, Texas on June 7, 1930 to Angelina (Luza) and Frank Barak. Joe (Jody) joined the United States Marine Corp at the age of 18 and served for 3 years. On June 18, 1951 Joe married the love of his life, Helen Matous. They made their home in Bryan, Mesquite and finally settled in Ennis, Texas. After marrying the love of his life he claimed Frances and Jerry Matous as his second parents. Joe enjoyed river fishing, hunting, and putting jigsaw puzzles together.
Dr. Robert Price Roye, 60, of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2022. Robert was born in San Antonio, Texas, on May 16, 1962, to Mary Beth (Rosser) and Watson “Payne” Roye. From the moment he was born as the youngest of 5 kids, he was constantly charging forward. He only operated at one level: full speed ahead. He was known to be his daddy’s little shadow, from the horse stables to the local court house. He played every sport and found great joy in joining his older brothers on the field. His sisters were overjoyed to have a real-life baby doll in their lives.
